Case in point: Kevin Durant's reaction to Luka Doncic's controversial technical foul earlier. That was the Mavs star's 16th tech of the season, rendering him suspended for their season finale against the Spurs. The Nets star quote-tweeted one fan's take on the situation, agreeing with all of his points.

“If an official is gonna miss an obvious call like that one, the least he could do is extend the player some leniency for outrage at the missed call. As long as no expletives are said, all should be well. “

The play that the Nets star and the fan is referencing is this one, where Doncic seemed to have been undercut by a Blazers player as he was attempting a half-court shot. Doncic pleaded his case to Tony Brothers, but the controversial referee wasn't having any of it and called a tech on the Mavs star instead.

The Nets star's point was that Brothers should've taken responsibility for the missed call and let Doncic plead his case without calling a technical. However, Brothers (who is infamous amongst NBA circles as being one of the… less good referees in the league) didn't do any of that, instead flexing his power by issuing a powerful technical on Doncic. As a result, Doncic is likely to miss their final game of the season, which is huge considering it has massive seeding implications.

As for the Nets, they have made a huge bounce back to their season after Kyrie Irving was cleared to play home games for the team. Their latest win over the struggling Cleveland Cavaliers put them in the seventh spot, which would greatly benefit their chances of making it to the playoffs. With a healthy Durant and Irving, the sky's the limit for this team, and they'll be gunning for a championship come playoff time.
