Brooklyn Nets superstar point guard Kyrie Irving has a reputation as a locker room killer, just like his pal Jimmy Butler did before the All-Star swingman joined the Miami Heat this season and the team became a contender in the East.

Irving reportedly didn't have the best relationship with Boston Celtics head coach Brad Stevens or former Nets head coach Kenny Atkinson. Now, ex-New York Knicks head coach David Fizdale wonders if Irving is just a guy who doesn’t adapt and kills culture or if he's like Butler and needs the right fit:

“I don’t really have an opinion one way or another,” David Fizdale said about Kyrie Irving on ESPN radio, via The New York Daily News.

“But you can’t deny the fact he won a championship in Cleveland and did enough to help a team get all the way to the end, and was a huge part of it. And the last two places it just didn’t work out and I wasn’t in the building to know exactly what was going on. But it can be one of two things: He was either that guy who doesn’t adapt and kills culture. Or he’s a Jimmy Butler who needs to find a right fit.”

Butler played for the Chicago Bulls, Minnesota Timberwolves and Philadelphia 76ers before finding a home with the Heat. Irving signed a four-year deal with the Nets last summer, as did Kevin Durant and DeAndre Jordan.

Odds are Irving is really happy to be playing for the Nets. Now, fans just have to see if Brooklyn will find the right coach for Kyrie and KD.

In 20 games for the Nets this season, Irving averaged 27.4 points, 5.2 rebounds and 6.4 assists. The six-time All-Star shot 47.8 percent from the field, 39.4 percent from beyond the arc and 92.2 percent from the free-throw line.
