Landry Shamet has gotten off to a slow start with the Brooklyn Nets this season, which has prompted fans to criticize him on social media. With Shamet still trying to figure out his role with the Nets, Shamet fired back at a fan that had an ‘earth-shattering take' on Twitter.

In the first 11 games of the season, Shamet has struggled to find his shot in Brooklyn after being traded from the Los Angeles Clippers. The former first-round pick of the Philadelphia 76ers has begun the season by shooting a dismal 31.4 percent from the field and 25.6 percent from three-point range.

Coming into the 2020-2021 season, Shamet was a career 42 percent shooter from the field and a 40.2 percent shooter from outside the arc. Given that, it is unknown as to what it is causing Shamet to see such a decline in efficiency to begin the season.

While Shamet has had a forgettable start, he's seeing a career-low 17.4 minutes per game with the Nets. Even though he was involved in a three-team trade that sent Luke Kennard to the Clippers and Bruce Brown to Brooklyn, Shamet hasn't lived up to expectations thus far.

However, Shamet understands that he has plenty of room to improve and is confident that he'll get things turned around sooner rather than later. And with the Nets losing Spencer Dinwiddie for the rest of the season, they may need Shamet to step into a larger role as the season progresses.

The 23-year-old shooting guard will look to get his game back on track when the Nets face the Denver Nuggets on Tuesday.
