Brooklyn Nets forward Blake Griffin once again proves that he can still dunk. On Thursday’s game versus the Dallas Mavericks, Griffin soared for a jam thanks to a beautiful pass from Kyrie Irving. Griffin’s averaging 11.0 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 3.1 assists per game this season.

The idea of Griffin dunking this season has been something NBA fans or NBA Twitter, in general, have their eyes on. The criticism thrown at Griffin at the start of the season was the fact that he can no longer dunk and he seemed to prove that wrong after coming to the Nets. Griffin had 0 dunks in the 25 games he played for the Detroit Pistons but was able to dunk three times in the first five games he played in a Nets jersey.

The Nets have struggled as of late. They’ve dropped four straight games to the Portland Trail Blazers and twice to the Milwaukee Bucks before losing to the Mavericks.

Thankfully, the Nets have managed to win a ton of games with Harden in the lineup thus putting them in a relatively comfortable spot in the Eastern Conference standings. They’ll probably at least finish top four in the standings. With the superstar talent they have, especially come playoff time, there’s a reason for them to be confident about their chances. That is of course if the team is healthy by then. But for now, role players like Griffin, Joe Harris, and Nicolas Claxton are expected to step up.
