Spencer Dinwiddie is no stranger to social media. On Monday, he received a scare when Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN followed him on Twitter. Of course, anyone who follows basketball knows Woj is notorious for breaking the biggest NBA news. The Brooklyn Nets backup point guard thought Woj's follow may have signaled a potential trade involving Dinwiddie.

But Woj assured Dinwiddie that he wasn't going anywhere — at least to Woj's knowledge. He told Dinwiddie that it doesn't work like that and to enjoy his holiday. Dinwiddie was relieved and responded in kind while wishing Wojnarowski a great holiday.

Dinwiddie may have been worried about a follow from Woj because there's no guarantee he remains in Brooklyn this season. Nets head coach Kenny Atkinson and general manager Sean Marks are very high on the backup point guard, but if the right deal came along, they would have to consider making a trade.

Dinwiddie will back up D'Angelo Russell to start the season, but the former Colorado Buffalo's stock has never been higher. He's coming off a career year in which he finished third in Most Improved Player voting. Dinwiddie rose from a guy who struggled to stay in the rotation, to a potential starter in the NBA.

The Phoenix Suns are in search of a point guard, and a potential trade between the two teams could make sense. Brooklyn seems to be content with Russell as their lead guard, so if Phoenix can put together an enticing package, the Nets would at least hear them out.

But for now, there are no Woj bombs with Dinwiddie on the horizon.
