Steve Nash knows James Harden is not yet at 100 percent after spending the summer recovering from his hamstring injury. For the Brooklyn Nets coach, however, this shouldn't be a cause of concern.

According to Nash, he sees Harden recapturing his form sooner rather than later. And what does this mean for the rest of the NBA? Well, a whole lot of trouble.

“He's still an excellent player even if he's not at peak form and we still believe in him. And he'll get there in the next few weeks,” Nash said of Harden, per Basketball insider Adam Zagoria.

James Harden has struggled over the first three games of the season, during which the Nets went 1-2. He's averaging just 18.3 points on 38.8 percent shooting– a significant dip from his 24.6 points on 44.4 percent shooting for Brooklyn in 2020-21.

More alarming is his 3.0 free throw attempts per game, which has been largely blamed to the NBA's rule change that now prevents foul-baiting moves. However, Steve Nash did point out that Harden's injury and rehab also play a role in his inability to attack the rim as he used to.

It's still early in the season and Nets fans do not need to panic despite the rather disappointing start of the championship favorites. However, it will certainly help ease their worries if Harden can show flashes of his old self as they try to string wins and get their rhythm going.
