Chase Young is considered by many as a top-three selection in the coming 2020 NFL Draft. The defensive end also believes that he's the best player among the pool of players entering the NFL this offseason.

ESPN's Tom VanHaaren wrote about Young's confidence ahead of the draft. The incoming rookie is absolutely certain of his qualities as a player and believes that there's no question about his talent in comparison to the other players with him in the draft:

“Yes, definitely,” Young said, doubling down on a similar claim he made back in February about being the NFL draft's most dominant defender. “I know I'm the best, definitely.”

However, the Ohio State defensive end's confidence is not just coming out of an incredible ego. Through three years with the Buckeyes, he notched 98 tackles, 40.5 tackles for loss, 30.5 sacks, eight pass deflections, and nine forced fumbles. He was one of the best edge rushers in college football during his time, and his 6-5, 265-pound stature will allow him to keep up with the best the NFL has to offer.

Like many other prospects, he was disappointed that he wasn't going to walk on stage at the NFL Draft and shake Roger Goodell's hand due to the coronavirus. He's made it clear that he won't let the virtual draft ruin the moment for him, though:

“We're just trying to make sure the people who are making it can get it here,” Young said. “So if it gets here, all I will tell you is that I think the color is green … money green, yeah.”

Whichever team ends up landing Young in the NFL Draft will have a talented defender on their secondary. He has the skills and mindset to be successful in the league and potentially be one of the more dominant defensive players.
