The Washington Redskins could begin to trade some of their veterans ahead of the NFL trade deadline. Among them, the Indianapolis Colts and Baltimore Ravens have begun to show interest in acquiring Ryan Kerrigan, per Jake Russell.

The Redskins are 1-7 to begin the season and there's no reason to believe that they'll have a historic finish. Therefore, it's wise for Dan Snyder and Bruce Allen to start looking to move veterans for draft capital in future years.

Kerrigan is in his ninth season in the NFL and has been one of the most consistent pass rushers in the league since the team drafted him in 2011. In his first 136 starts in the NFL, the veteran edge-rusher has totaled 86.5 sacks, 112 tackles for loss, 25 forced fumbles, and three interceptions.

With the deadline steadily approaching, there are teams beginning to express interest in Kerrigan. The two teams who have shown the most interest are the Colts and the Ravens.

The Colts signed Justin Houston in the offseason but they still are without a reliable edge-defender on the other side. Indianapolis currently has 19 sacks on the year (17th in the NFL).

As for the Ravens, they are in dire need of a running mate with Matthew Judon. Over the course of the offseason, Baltimore watched as Terrell Suggs and Za'Darius Smith (their starters in 2018) departed in free agency.

Due to Suggs and Smith leaving, the Ravens have had trouble getting to the quarterback this season. In light of that, they've only been able to accumulate 12 sacks in 2019 (28th in the NFL).

It remains to be seen if Washington is willing to deal Kerrigan on Tuesday. But without a doubt, both the Colts and Ravens could use the 31-year-old pass rusher on their defense.
