If the 2020 NFL season pushes through, it will look unlike any other season in the league's storied history.

With the ongoing coronavirus pandemic still a threat to the season, there's a good chance that if it does happen, it will be without fans as a safety precaution.

However, although fans may not be in attendance, viewers at home can reasonably expect the atmosphere of an NFL game to stay the same.

According to FOX broadcaster Joe Buck in his talk with Andy Cohen of SiriusXM Radio, “it’s pretty much a done deal” that FOX and other networks will use fake crowd noise for games played without fans.

Along with pumped in crowd noise, Buck mentioned that NFL games will feature virtual fans so that stadiums will look at capacity on television.

With most players quarantining at home, it has also become increasingly more difficult to train, which could lead to sloppy plays at the beginning of the season. After all, teams haven't been able to have a normal offseason.

Obviously, the NFL is far from the only major sports league affected by the pandemic, as league's like the NBA were forced to postpone their season before it ended.

As for the NFL, the league had to cancel, postpone and alter several offseason events. For example, the recent NFL Draft had to be moved from its original venue in Las Vegas to a virtual draft where teams drafted from several isolated locations across the country.
