The National Football League is dealing with a minor crisis. The large number of teams across the league have been experiencing COVID outbreaks, causing concern for player health and safety. According to ProFootball Talk, the NFL Player's Association is aggressively pushing for the postponement of Saturday's game between the Cleveland Browns and Las Vegas Raiders. Many in the union also feel that the entire Week 15 slate should be postponed.

There is large concern for the integrity of the game and keeping player's healthy and safe.

The Cleveland Browns have arguably been hit the hardest. They now have 21 players on the league's COVID-19 reserve list. That includes many key players, including quarterback Baker Mayfield. It was also announced earlier Thursday that back up quarterback Case Keenum was also placed on the COVID-19 reserve list. Therefore, the Browns are left with Nick Mullens as their starter Saturday.

Mullens was just added to the active roster earlier Thursday.

Mayfield let his thoughts be known, blasting the NFL for allowing this game to happen.

Mayfield did not mine words, stating “Make up your damn mind on protocols. Showing up and making only 3 teams test?!? All so you can keep the game as scheduled to make money.” He then followed up that tweet with another.

“Actually caring about player safety would mean delaying the game with this continuing at the rate it is …. But to say you won't test vaccinated players if they don't have symptoms, then to pull this randomly. Doesn't make any sense to me,”

Cleveland will also be without star wide receiver Jarvis Landry, starting tight end Austin Hooper, five players from their secondary, plus their head coach Kevin Stefanski.
