Former NFL running back Reggie Bush offered a unique stance on President Donald Trump's announcement that he and his wife, Melania, had tested positive for COVID-19 on Thursday.

As part of a tweet that he sent out on Friday morning, Bush claimed that Trump's diagnosis is “a conspiracy:”

“Teflon Don just wants the attention on him,” Reggie Bush wrote … “Now the entire world will be on Trump watch. Now you test positive? After all the rallies with no masks you held, now you conveniently catch COVID after that disastrous debate?”

Bush has been critical of Donald Trump in the past. One reader suggested that Trump's positive test will get him out of future debates, and Bush agreed:

“It’s all a game and it’s all a reality tv show that’s what reality tv stars do they keep the attention on them at all costs,” the former NFL running back wrote.

The first debate between President Donald Trump and democratic candidate Joe Biden did not go well, to say the least. Neither party could stop themselves from talking over one another, leaving many citizens with a sour taste in their mouths. In fact, many political analysts labeled the Cleveland debate as “a disaster.”

The next debate is scheduled for October 15, and a third is scheduled for the following week. However, the ensuing meetings will only take place if the president and his wife are cleared of the virus and its symptoms.

As of now, President Trump's symptoms appear to be mild. According to a report from The New York Times, he is experiencing cold-like symptoms after testing positive. Vice President Mike Pence and other officials have tested negative.
