Free-agent wideout Antonio Brown, who finds himself in the news more often than not, recently criticized Colin Kaepernick for his antics towards the NFL and even called Kap a “trash QB.”

Surprisingly, Shawne Merriman has doubled down on AB's comments, essentially saying he made some true statements.

Via TMZ:

“He makes some valid points about Colin Kaepernick, saying that, you know, he took the money from the NFL. The settlement. The Nike commercials — all these things,” Merriman said.

“Well, I think a lot of people think that way about all the other stuff that Colin Kaepernick has going on, and the opportunities that he's had to get back in the NFL, and just hasn't.”

Sure, Kap did take money from the NFL and benefited off some commercials and such with companies like Nike. But there is no way you can look past that he hasn't received another chance to play in the league again. Despite Brown thinking he's not worthy of it, that's very hard to believe. Kaepernick was once a very good quarterback and still works tirelessly for the day he'll get that call.

Merriman also said if Brown wasn't such a controversial figure, more people might actually agree with his Colin Kaepernick take:

“We get the message,” Merriman said, “but people aren't trying to listen to the messenger.”

Take it for what you will.
