Warren Moon knows that Colin Kaepernick has not played in the NFL since 2016, the result of refusing to stand for the playing of the United States national anthem. Kaepernick wanted to raise awareness in social injustice and has accused the NFL of forcing him out of the league. However, he withdrew his grievances in February of last year after a private settlement with the league.

“I am not going to stand up to show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses black people and people of color,” Colin Kaepernick told NFL network’s Steve Wyche in 2016.

Hall of Famer Warren Moon told TMZ Sports in an interview that he believes Colin Kaepernick still deserves a shot at the NFL.

“If he's willing to play football and put the time in that it's gonna take to be a quarterback in the NFL,” Moon said, “he definitely deserves an opportunity to get that because he was definitely misinterpreted four years ago with his stand.”

Moon has been active with interviews as of late. He had a moment to talk with KNN's Kelsey Nicole Nelson about Colin Kaepernick.

In the video interview, Moon mentions that the main reason Colin Kaepernick is still without a team is because of his priorities.

“Is it in your heart to play football. Because there’s a lot going on with the protests. If you’re that involved in this, you can’t be that involved football. If you are not all in as the quarterback in the NFL, they don’t want you on the football team because you have to be committed.”

The 32-year old Colin Kaepernick currently holds the NFL record of most rushing yards by a quarterback at 181. Despite that feat, everyone is still wondering if he'd rather be an activist or back on the NFL field.
