After a disastrous start to the 2017 NFL season, the Buffalo Bills quietly emerged as a prime darkhorse candidate to earn a spot in this year's playoffs. However, it has finally come to fruition for Buffalo.
After one of the longest playoff droughts in the league, the Bills clinched a berth in the Wild Card Game with their 22-16 win over the Miami Dolphins in the season finale. The team then made the announcement on their official Twitter

Coming into the final week, there were some factors that needed to play out in order for them to have a shot. They did their part by beating the Dolphins, however, the Baltimore Ravens were the ones ultimately in control of their own destiny.
Unfortunately, the Ravens gave up their lead in a miraculous turn of events against the Cincinnati Bengals in the final minute of regulation. As a result, the Bills are going to the playoffs for the first time since 1999.
It has been a surprising year for Buffalo, to say the least. The Bills came into the season having made a bevy of changes to their existing personnel under new head coach Sean McDermott. However, it is clear that this underdog team has become a force to be reckoned with in the years to come.
