The Buffalo Bills’ season may have ended on Sunday at the AFC Championship Game against the Kansas City Chiefs, but the fans’ support for the team never wavered even after the defeat.

As the Bills flew home to Buffalo after the AFC title game at Arrowhead Stadium, a large crowd of fans waited at the airport until 3:00 a.m. and greeted the team upon their arrival. The fans erupted into cheers once the plane landed:

The Bills are known to have some of the most dedicated fans in the league, and it showed even after their 38-24 defeat at the hands of Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs. On Sunday, Buffalo played in the AFC Championship Game for the first time since a run of four consecutive trips to the Super Bowl during the early 1990s.

The team finished with a 13-3 record and won the AFC East for the first time since 1995 and advanced all the way to the AFC title game, with quarterback Josh Allen establishing himself as one of the league’s best at the position. Against Kansas City, Allen completed 28-of-48 passes for 287 passing yards, two touchdowns, and one interception while adding 88 rushing yards on seven carries.

But after holding the Chiefs scoreless in the first period and taking a 9-0 lead, the Bills could not hold off their dynamic offense and gave up 21 unanswered points in the second quarter and were forced to play catch-up against the defending champions the rest of the way.

But even after the loss, the support from Bills Mafia remains strong as shown by the huge turnout at the airport as the team returned after the end of their playoff run. Buffalo has a bright future ahead, so the fans should have plenty to cheer for in the coming years.
