Brandon Beane, the Buffalo Bills general manager, knows that his team has “a lot of work to do” before it can be considered a serious contender in the future.
In an open letter penned to the Buffalo News, Beane said that his main focus was to keep the loyal fans of the team happy.

That is what drives our entire staff here at One Bills Drive. We have work to do and we know it. Although we were very encouraged by our development and growth this year, we certainly have areas of need in all three phases.”
Beane went on to reiterate a lot of the talking points that he's echoed about the two-year plan for the team. He said that the Bills have strong players in the likes of Josh Allen, Tremaine Edmunds, and Tre'Davious White. Though these players are recent acquisitions to the team, he said that he feels they contribute to the overall strength of the team.
“Our salary cap situation has improved greatly. It was a strategic move to have so much dead cap space last year in order to put us in a better situation moving forward. We will use that to our advantage. We intend to be active in the free agent market, but we will be calculated with those decisions.”
Finally, Beane also assured the fans that he's “on the same page” as Bills owners Terry and Kim Pegula, as well as coach Sean McDermott.
