The Carolina Panthers are getting a little uneasy regarding Graham Gano's status for the start of the regular season. Gano is dealing with a leg injury and Panthers coach Ron Rivera said he wasn't sure if Gano would be able to kick this week.
Rivera said in the next day or two the Panthers should have a better answer on his status, and that is when the team could make a decision.

Hopefully what’ll happen is, in the next day or two as he continues going through his process of working back to health, we’ll know whether he’s going to kick or not,” Rivera said via Brendan Marks of the Charlotte Observer. “If he’s able to, he most certainly will. That’s for sure. . . .”
“It is uneasy, to be honest with you. Because again, you want him to be able to kick to make sure everything’s fine. We’ll know hopefully in the next day or two.”
With Gano out, it has given Joey Slye a chance to prove he belongs on an NFL roster. So far during the preseason, he has gone 6-for-6, including two of the kicks being from over 50 yards. He has never kicked in a regular season game, but the former Virginia Tech Hokies standout has proven that he can deal with the pressure that comes with being an NFL player.
The Panthers hope Gano will be back and ready for he start of the regular season, but either way the team seems to be in good hands.
