When video of Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton throwing the football surfaced 12 days ago, Panthers coach Ron Rivera was displeased, to say the least.

Newton hadn't been seen passing since undergoing arthroscopic surgery on his throwing shoulder in January — until a Twitter video purportedly from the Panthers’ practice on May 30 surfaced.

The coach said he didn't appreciate people “snooping” on his quarterback. Though he won't have to worry about fans resorting to that measure any longer.

Carolina announced plans to livestream all of Newton’s throws in an attempt to show that all is well with the quarterback after he had shoulder surgery in January. The team built up anticipation for Newton’s minicamp with a video featuring Newton’s response to those who may be doubting his comeback.

“A lot of people are looking at me as if everything’s over,” Newton said. “A lot of people are saying they’ve seen the best of Cam Newton. I refuse to give up, this is going to make me even more dangerous. Even though there’s so much doubt, even though it’s so much uncertainty. Hearing the whispers of ‘He don’t got it no more’ fuels me.”

The announcement was given an added amount of intrigue when NFL Network's Ian Rapoport said Newton has made “significant changes” to his throwing motion this offseason. The video will be our first glimpse at what exactly that means.

Newton was successful last year with offensive coordinator Norv Turner before shoulder deterioration derailed his season, throwing 15 touchdowns to four interceptions and earning a 6-2 record through the first half of the season. The two will hope to expand on that success this season with Newton healthy once again.
