It's been a roller coaster of an offseason for the Cleveland Browns. The front office has done a great job in building a playoff contender, however, the quarterback situation is up in the air. Either way, the coaching staff is going to have to release players to formulate the best team moving forward. For that reason, we look at three potential cut candidates on the Browns roster entering training camp.

Depending on Deshaun Watson's eventual suspension dictates the 2022 season outlook for Cleveland. If he's suspended the entire year, then the front office might have to make another trade for a quarterback. If not, then rumors are the Browns will possibly bring in a free agent. If that's the case, then someone in the current quarterback room could receive the ax.

The wide receiver room isn't the greatest, however, Cleveland might already know who to keep on the final roster. For that reason, we can expect someone to be released during the preseason. Additionally, the Browns have a plethora of running backs and it's not likely all of them remain on the team.

With that said, here are three potential cut candidates on the Browns roster entering training camp.

Browns Roster Cut Candidates

3. Joshua Dobbs

Joshua Dobbs might be the odd man out depending on Watson's suspension. The Browns are likely seeking a stronger backup behind Jacoby Brissett and are even rumored to be interested in Jimmy Garoppolo. Whether or not that trade happens is nill, as Cleveland is actively searching for another quarterback with Deshaun Watson's 2022 season outlook up in the air.

Dobbs has been a career backup and has virtually no chance of winning a starting role in the league. Regardless, he's a great third option to have for most teams. Even so, it's not ideal for the Browns to have Joshua Dobbs play as their second option, so don't expect him to be on the roster for much longer.

2. Ja'Marcus Bradley

Cleveland's wide receiver situation isn't great, but it's not dreadful either. The coaching staff is hopeful that Donovan Peoples-Jones can take another step in development while Amari Cooper leads the way. Additionally, the Browns have high hopes for David Bell, which means this franchise already has their top three pass options set in the receiver room.

For that reason, Ja'Marcus Bradley could be a cut candidate in Cleveland. He's competing with numerous other receivers on the roster, some of which are rookies. The Browns are searching for someone to step up in the passing game and it's hard to imagine Bradley earning major playing time throughout the regular season.

1. Demetric Felton Jr.

There are so many running backs in Cleveland the front office could start giving them away to everybody like they're Oprah Winfrey. You get a running back, you get a running back, everyone gets a running back! With that in mind, it's like we see the Browns let go of more than one player in the backfield, and the odd man out right now is Demetric Felton Jr.

His play style doesn't quite match the offensive scheme and he's already at the bottom of the depth chart. Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt lead the way while D'Ernest Johnson could work his way into a minimal role as well. The Browns simply don't need Felton on the roster, which makes him a cut candidate on this roster. Look for him to play decently enough throughout the preseason and potentially sign elsewhere this offseason.
