Cleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield and New York Giants running back Saquon Barkley had a little fun with their campaign for Offensive Rookie of the Year by placing a bet. It appears Mayfield has proven to be a man of his word.

The two waged that the loser would buy the winner a chain dedicated to their likeness. It is safe to say that Mayfield managed to capture Barkley's, via Twitter:

Baker Mayfield and Saquon Barkley had come into the league as two of the most notable prospects in the 2018 NFL Draft. They solidified that notion by being taken with the first and second picks. As a result, they were the clear-cut favorites to come away with the award. Rather than trying to downplay any notion of competition, they fully embraced it with a friendly wager.

Each player certainly made a strong case to be named OROY in 2018. The Giants caught some flak for taking a running back so early; however, Saquon Barkley was quickly able to justify their decision by emerging as arguably one of the best players at his position. The impact he had in New York from start to finish was more than enough for him to take home the award.

Meanwhile, Baker Mayfield had to be a bit more patient when his time finally came around. Fortunately, it did not take him long to show he was NFL-ready after leading the Browns to a resurgence. Expectations are now as high as ever with all the firepower Cleveland has managed to collect in recent years.

Although it may be difficult for Mayfield to top his gift to Barkley, it will be interesting to see if these two young stars place any more bets in the future.
