It’s been a while since Bruce Arians last coached in the NFL, but he said that he’s probably going to entertain the idea of mentoring in the pro ranks again if it’s for the Cleveland Browns, per Steve Doerschuk of The Canton Repository.

Arians said that “Cleveland is the only job I would consider” in case the itch to coach again comes back. It’s a timely admission from Arians, as the Browns have just recently fired Hue Jackson and replaced him temporarily with Greg Williams, who was promoted to the head coaching job from the defensive coordinator position.

It remains uncertain who will be the Browns’ head coach beyond this season, but the franchise is expected to ramp up their search for one in the offseason.

Arians also mentioned another name the Browns could consider as the team’s next sideline boss, saying that former Indianapolis Colts head coach Chuck Pagano is his “guy.”

Bruce Arians retired from coaching back in January, walking away from the NFL with a career coaching record of 49-30-1. Arians coached the Colts in 2012 and the Arizona Cardinals from 2013 to 2017.

The Browns do not look like the reclamation project they used to be, as they now have plenty of talents on both ends of the field. A former offensive coordinator, Arians could also be impressed with Cleveland’s young attacking group currently spearheaded by rookie quarterback Baker Mayfield.
