The Cleveland Browns for the first time in over a year where able to muster another result than a loss after tying the Pittsburgh Steelers 21-21 in overtime on Sunday afternoon.
It was a back-and-forth contest that the Browns held their own to overcome a 14-deficit in the fourth quarter. Following the game, former Pro Bowl wide receiver Josh Gordon voiced that the performance that his team put forward that led to a tie isn't something celebrate, according to Dan Graziano of ESPN.
The Browns had turned a potentially disappointing performance against Steelers into something to build off moving forward. The game had gotten off to a rough start offensively with them being unable to get on the board until early in the second quarter, which remained the same all throughout the third quarter where Pittsburgh took command with a pair of touchdowns.
However, Cleveland did respond to force overtime that saw their key pieces step up with Tyrod Taylor leading a pair of scoring drives with running Carlos Hyde getting the first touchdown and it was followed up by an impressive 17-yard touchdown throw to Gordon for his only reception of the game. This showcased the promising play that the team could have with their revamped roster that could possibly lead to them pushing into the playoff picture.
This will all have to start by stringing wins together, which is something the franchise hasn't been able to do over the last two years. It wasn't the idea start that they were looking to have, but it's a step in the right direction.
