It's been a rough season for Kevin Stefanski and the Cleveland Browns. That being said, they are mathematically still in the hunt for a playoff spot with a 7-8-0 record and a game against the Pittsburgh Steelers at Heinze Field coming up on Sunday. It's not going to be easy for the Browns to overcome the challenges, though, especially if distractions as grave as death threats are hounding their quarterback Baker Mayfield.
According to Stefanski, he's been made aware of a particular social media post by Baker's wife revealing that the QB has gotten threats to his life, per Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com.

First of all, some people just take things too far. It's one thing to hate the guts of a player you think isn't helping your team win football games. It's entirely another thing to issue death threats to any person, no matter the circumstances.
Mayfield is coming off an awful performance in the Browns' 24-22 road loss to the Green Bay Packers in Week 16. He threw two touchdowns but got intercepted four times, while also receiving five sacks for a loss of 33 yards. Nevertheless, Mayfield deserves much respect for playing in some games despite a banged-up body. Mayfield has also been all class to his team despite his struggles.

Whether the Browns make the playoffs or not this season, Mayfield will be under the microscope in 2022, as he looks to build a strong case for a contract extension in Cleveland.
