The Cleveland Browns re-signed defensive end Jadeveon Clowney to a one-year deal this past week in the NFL offseason. While Clowney himself cited “chasing a Super Bowl” as his reason for returning to Cleveland, there is another reason why he chose to sign the dotted line with the Browns once again: teammate Myles Garrett. Garrett helped to recruit Clowney back to the Browns, although it wasn't the most conventional message that he sent to the then-free agent. Nate Ulrich of the Akron Beacon Journal revealed Garrett's blunt message to Clowney.

Garrett told Clowney to “get his a** here.” And for that, the Browns say thank you! What a recruiting pitch! Clowney was likely already considering making his return, so a ton of recruiting really wasn't needed.

However, Garrett seems to have a natural knack for free agency recruiting. In all seriousness, the star defensive end understood that Clowney's presence was good for the rest of the defense- and vice versa.

Of course, Garrett went on to joke that he and Clowney make a good combo because he gets “double teamed and Clowney gets single blocked.” There is something to the fact that both pass-rushers attract attention and extra blockers, making it harder on opposing offensive linemen.

Not only will Clowney be looking to build off of the nine sacks he posted last season, but he'll also be looking to help get the Browns to the Super Bowl.
