Kareem Hunt has finally been able to make his mark on the Cleveland Browns offense over the last two weeks after missing most of the season due to a suspension handed down from the NFL. Not only has he eased back into the action, he has been making an impact in the limited role that Freddie Kitchens has given him.
Thankfully, Hunt has been able to put up some decent numbers for Fantasy Football players who chose to stash him on their bench this entire time. He has shown positive returns early and bigger things are in store for him throughout the remainder of the year.
In his first two games with the Browns, Hunt carried the football 10 times for 42 yards. He has also caught 13 passes for 90 yards. Those numbers are set to take a massive jump this week against the Miami Dolphins.
That's right, Hunt is a massive sleeper play for Fantasy Football teams in Week 12.
Kitchens and company are in a position where they need to win football games in order to stay alive. One more loss would all but eliminate them from postseason contention. Hunt is a playmaker and the Browns are going to do everything they can to put him in positions to utilize those skills.
More than likely, the Browns are going to use Hunt as a receiver out of the backfield. Miami has had issues with bringing down playmakers and allowing them to rip off big plays. Hunt will be able to make a couple of those plays happen this week against them.
No one should plug Hunt into their lineup as an RB1 or RB2, but he is an ideal FLEX candidate. Also, no one should expect to see Hunt break out for 20-plus points this week. His expectations should be held to around 13-17 points.
However, Hunt is the type of back who could win a matchup for someone in the FLEX. Don't be scared to play him. He has a much bigger chance to explode for 20 or more points than to be held below seven.
Cleveland likes what Hunt brings to the field and his role is going to grow. Nick Chubb is the obvious No. 1 back, but the Browns are going to try to get both running backs involved more often.
Expect to see the Browns utilize Hunt early and often this week. He should see a very similar number of touches as Chubb does in the starting role. Go ahead and plug Hunt into your Fantasy Football lineup.
