Baker Mayfield was supposed to be the next big thing in the NFL. The Cleveland Browns were seen as a much improved team and Mayfield had preseason MVP aspirations. All of that has been put on hold with the Browns at 1-2 and Mayfield not playing well whatsoever.

Right now, many Fantasy Football owners are disappointed. Mayfield is viewed as a starting fantasy quarterback with weapons like Odell Beckham, Jarvis Landry, and David Njoku. So far, Mayfield has thrown for just three touchdowns and five interceptions. He has not looked comfortable in the pocket this season and seems to be making questionable decisions.

In Week 4, the Browns will take on the Baltimore Ravens. These are the two teams that will be fighting for an AFC North title. Mayfield needs a big game and it can happen this week.

Can Baker Mayfield Break Out?

The Ravens had one of the scariest defenses in all of football last season. They brought in Earl Thomas, but lost talent like C.J. Mosley, Terrell Suggs, and Eric Weddle. This season, the Ravens are not the same.

If you take away Week 1 against the Miami Dolphins, Baltimore has been surrendering massive passing games. In Week 2, Kyler Murray threw for 349 yards against the Ravens. Most recently, Patrick Mahomes lit up Baltimore for 374 yards and three touchdowns. Neither quarterback was picked off.

The flipside of things is that the Ravens have been scoring. In come the Browns, who are supposed to have an explosive offense. It has not showed up yet, but this could be the week and it starts with Mayfield. It is time that he breaks out and becomes the perennial MVP candidate that everyone was talking up in the preseason.

Mayfield and head coach Freddie Kitchens will see that there will be opportunities for big plays on Sunday. If this game is a shootout, it favors the Browns. Despite what the Ravens and Lamar Jackson have been doing, the Browns want this game to be high scoring. If it is a defensive battle, they will lose. Mayfield has to get his receivers involved early and keep them involved throughout the game.

Baker Mayfield went for 325 yards in Week 2, but he had one interception. This will be his first game eclipsing 300 yards without turning the ball over.
