Although the Cleveland Browns may have fallen vastly short of expectations in the 2019 NFL season, wide receiver Jarvis Landry is one of the few players that can take solace in the fact he still managed to put together a stellar year.

The Browns had generated plenty of hype in the offseason with their influx of star power that was ultimately capped off by the acquisition of wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. The prospect of quarterback Baker Mayfield having such a talented tandem in Beckham and Landry leading his receiving corps would pay huge dividends for the offense as a whole.

Unfortunately, it quickly became evident that would not be the case as Cleveland simply could not find their footing before stumbling to a 6-10 record and a third-place finish in the AFC North. Despite all the turmoil that came with this team not living up to the hype, Landry was still able to block out the noise to to serve as one of the lone bright spots in an otherwise disastrous season.

Landry hauled in 83 receptions for 1,174 yards and six touchdowns in the 2019 campaign en route to his fifth consecutive Pro Bowl selection. While there was certainly no shortage of talent on this offense, he and running back Nick Chubb will be the only Browns representatives in this year's Pro Bowl.

Many expected Mayfield would be able to kick things up a notch following a promising rookie year with only Landry as his most viable weapon in the passing game. It is clear that the presence of not just one but two Pro Bowl-caliber receivers did little to help with the former No. 1 overall pick's development after seemingly regressing in his sophomore season.

As a result, Landry found himself in a difficult situation watching Beckham struggle to make his presence felt after all the noise they had generated in the offseason. Regardless, all he could do was take advantage of the looks provided to put together solid outings on a consistent basis. The fact that he was able to outperform his good friend almost every week due to his rapport with Mayfield is evidence that he is still the No. 1 option.

There was no shortage of issues surrounding the Browns' abysmal offense, however, Landry was still able to maintain his role as the go-to wideout to finish top-10 in the league for yards and targets. It is for these reasons that his contributions have garnered him an A-minus grade for this season.
