The matchup between the Las Vegas Raiders and Cleveland Browns has officially been rescheduled to take place on Monday. With COVID-19 running rampant through the league, JC Tretter took matters into his own hands and pushed for games to be postponed. However, it seems to have irked Casey Hayward.
Hayward took to Twitter to call out the NFLPA and JC Tretter for his decision to push for postponing this game. The Raiders defensive star seems to believe there was an ulterior motive behind Tretter, considering he plays for the Browns.
I’m sure the @NFLPA president playing for the Browns didn’t have any effect on these negotiations… pic.twitter.com/MZ95eVyOiz

It is true. In the middle of the NFL offseason, the league made it clear that there would be no rescheduling games and threatened there would be forfeits. Even so, forcing a team to forfeit is the NFL's last resort. No player from either team is paid in a forfeit and it generates multiple issues as well. Even so, the Raiders' star points out the hypocrisy of JC Tretter.
Hayward's criticism of the NFLPA would hold true if the Raiders-Browns game was the only postponed matchup. However, two other games are being postponed as well, meaning Tretter went to bat for all three games. Casey Hayward might not be happy with the outcome, but it's not like Las Vegas is the only team experiencing this sudden change either.
With COVID-19 taking over multiple sports leagues, this might just be the beginning. We'll see how it plays out, but the NFL is determined to have every game played this year. Make sure to catch the Raiders take on the Browns on Monday.
