Ezekiel Elliott is beginning to get back to being the dominant running back he was in previous seasons, but he isn't complacent. The Dallas Cowboys' running back admits that other running backs have been better than him this season.

“I wouldn’t say so,” Elliott said when asked if that has shown he’s the best back in the league, via Michael Gehlken of the Dallas Morning News. “I think there’s been running backs that have played better than me this year. . . . I don’t think it bothers me. It kind of adds a little fuel to the fire. I’ve got some more work to do. That’s all.”

When the season began, it appeared that Elliott had some rust to shake off from the holdout he had during training camp. Since then, it seems as if the All-Pro running back is reverting back to being one of the most talented backs in the NFL.

This season, Elliott has rushed for 741 yards and six touchdowns for the Cowboys. Elliott has led the NFL in rushing yards in two of his three seasons, but he is currently sixth among running backs.

Ahead of him, guys like Christian McCaffrey and Dalvin Cook have taken the league by storm. However, since Week 6, Elliott has averaged a league-high 118.3 rushing yards per game.

The Cowboys' dynamic running back will get a chance to face Cook with Dallas squaring off against the Minnesota Vikings in Week 10. There's no doubt that Elliott will want to outperform his counterpart on Sunday to show that he is the highest-paid running back in the NFL for a reason.
