While many are still nursing hangovers, the Dallas Cowboys wasted no time in rolling up their sleeves and getting back to work. The Cowboys led—although lambasted or castigated seems more appropriate—the Washington Football Team in the first half on Sunday night, 42-7.
Dak Prescott and company hardly broke a sweat in punishing the Washington Football Team in the early goings, with the defense, led by Trevon Diggs, also helping set the tone.
According to Michael Gehlken of the Dallas Morning News, with their 42-point extravaganza, the Cowboys tied a franchise record for most points in at halftime. They matched the feat set against the Philadelphia Eagles in the not-so-distant past of 1969. Just for perspective, Cowboys coach Mike McCarthy was only six years old at that time.
Bench, please.

It was truly a historic opening half for the Cowboys, as Diggs also tied the team record for most interceptions in a single season with 11.
But it was Prescott who really stormed out of the gates. He was simply magnificent in the first half, going 27-of-35 for 327 yards and four touchdowns.
Barring any catastrophic collapse or a giant comet crashing down (have you watched Don't Look Up on Netflix yet?), the Cowboys are on track to get the easy victory and tighten their hold of the top spot in the NFC East.
