With the NFL Draft taking place in less than a week, Dallas Cowboys owner/general manager Jerry Jones is still drooling over Kyle Pitts. The Florida Gators tight end is entering the draft as one of the most talented prospects at the position in years. Jones can't help but imagine what the Cowboys' offense would look like if they drafted Pitts in the first round.
With the 10th pick overall in the draft, Dallas will likely have to move up to select Kyle Pitts. It's a doable maneuver, but it's possible Jones will have to move all the way up to four to ensure he gets his guy.
During an interview with Pitts, Jones let it be known that the prospect tight end joining the Cowboys has him “dreaming of sugar plums.” Outside from that, the Cowboys coaching staff asked some solid questions of Pitts to get a good feel for him. The Cowboys Twitter account shared a video of the interview.

At 6-6, 246 pounds, and arguably the best pass catcher available in the draft this year, it's no wonder Jerry Jones is dreaming of sugar plums. Pitts finished his final season at Florida with an impressive 43 receptions, 770 yards, and 12 touchdowns. What's more impressive is that he acquired that stat line in just eight games. He was on pace for over 1,200 yards and 20 touchdowns had COVID-19 not impacted the Gators season.
Inputting Pitts into the Cowboys offense would likely make them one of the most lethal offenses in the league. With Dak Prescot throwing to Amari Cooper, CeeDee Lamb, Kyle Pitts, and Michael Gallup, the passing game would be on fire. Then, with Ezekiel Elliot and Tony Pollard rushing the ball, Dallas would have an incredibly well-balanced attack in the ground game.
We'll see if Jerry Jones and the Cowboys pull the trigger and trade up to draft Pitts with their first pick of the draft on Thursday, April 29th.
