The Dallas Cowboys's training camp is underway with Ezekiel Elliott holding out for a new contract. Now, the Cowboys may have bigger issues stemming from a prior incident.

According to TMZ.com, the franchise and the Frisco, Texas police are being accused of covering up the severity of Ezekiel Elliott's car accident in a lawsuit. The car accident occurred in 2017 before the Cowboys faced the Green Bay Packers in the NFC Divisional Round.

In that game, Elliott rushed for 125 yards on 22 carries, but the Cowboys lost by the score of 34-31. Nonetheless, there could be more problems that arise for Jerry Jones.

The plaintiff that claims the Cowboys and Elliott covered up the accident said that Cowboys running backs coach Gary Brown arrived at the accident. Brown told the plaintiff that “we will take care of everything,” according to the plaintiff himself.

The plaintiff's attorney believes his client has a case against the Cowboys running back and said that he believes that Elliott “believes he is above the law”. In the case, the plaintiff is seeking $20 million in damages from the Cowboys and Elliott. In addition, he says his injuries from the accident aren't healed.

“Ezekiel Elliott believes he’s above the law,” the plaintiff’s attorney, Larry Friedman, told TMZ. “He doesn’t follow any rules. As a citizen and a member of our community he has a duty to obey the law and act responsibly, especially while driving a motor vehicle. . . . There are no exemptions for running backs or members of the Dallas Cowboys.”

Above all, Jerry Jones will need to open up his checkbook to pay Elliott, Dak Prescott, and Amari Cooper. But, he may need to bring his checkbook to a courtroom soon. Everything is bigger in Texas, including the drama.
