Dallas Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott has made it clear to the Dallas Cowboys that he will not play for the team without a new deal according to Josina Anderson of ESPN. According to the source, it is still expected the two sides will get a deal done because of Jerry Jones desire to make sure the two sides come to an agreement.

According to the source the Cowboys have known since January that Elliott wouldn't play this season without a new deal.

Former NFL star Eric Dickerson said on FS1's Undisputed that he talked to Elliott's agent, Rocky Arceneaux and he said that there is a chance Elliott could miss part of the season, but that isn't what either side wants to happen.

The Cowboys insist that there is a fair deal on the offer to Elliott, but he hasn't accepted it yet, and it's unclear exactly how much money he is looking for.

The Cowboys insist they have made solid offers to all three players that would put them at least in the top-five contracts at their positions and have been frustrated at the lack of engagement in negotiations, a source told ESPN's Todd Archer.

Elliott is subjected to a fine of $40,000 per day that he misses, but the Cowboys can decide later if they want to enforce those fines. If the two sides agree on a long term deal, it's hard to imagine that the team will decide to make him pay those. Hopefully, the two sides can get a deal done, so Elliott is out on the field this season.
