There has been a lot of complaining about the NFL's new helmet rule which makes figuring how exactly to tackle near impossible and it seems like it has a chance to turn into the new catch rule.
Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones opened up about the rule after Saturday's preseason game, and he admits he doesn't like it and hopes that the league will use common sense in figuring out when to apply the new rule.

Well, they ran it back, and it was OK even with a closer look. But it was close enough to have everybody thinking surely he’s not going to get a penalty for that. It has you wondering or thinking surely we’re going to use common sense at the end of the day relative to lowering of the head.”
Jones might be frustrated by the rules but it's one that he and the rest of the owners approved in March, and it doesn't look like it will be changing anytime soon.
The refs try to establish rules during the NFL preseason and sometimes during the regular season they are a little looser with calling the penalties. It will be interesting week one to see how the rule is called.
