With running back Aaron Jones done for the season due to a sprained MCL, the Green Bay Packers have added fellow running back Lavon Coleman to their active roster, according to the team.

Coleman, a rookie who played his collegiate football at the University of Washington, went undrafted last spring but signed with the Houston Texans as a free agent back in May. He was cut by the Texans before the season and then spent some time with the Seattle Seahawks before joining the Packers.

Coleman is yet to actually play in an NFL regular-season game.

In four years at Washington, the 24-year-old rushed for 2,000 yards and 12 touchdowns while hauling in 31 receptions for 252 yards and three scores.

His best collegiate season came in 2016, when he totaled 852 yards and seven scores on the ground.

Green Bay doesn't even have much to play for at this point.

The Packers were eliminated from playoff contention after their loss to the Chicago Bears last week, and to add insult to injury, they had to watch their hated rivals celebrate their NFC North division title.

This marks the first time since 2006 that Green Bay has missed the postseason in back-to-back years. Last season, the Packers won just seven games and failed to qualify for the playoffs, largely due to the fact that quarterback Aaron Rodgers missed most of the year due to a broken collarbone.

Prior to last season, Green Bay had made eight consecutive trips to the playoffs, including a Super Bowl title during the 2010-11 campaign.
