The Green Bay Packers are spending a lot of time preparing for Khalil Mack. The Packers are locked in to play Mack and the Chicago Bears in Week 1 of the regular season. They want to approach planning for this new and improved Bears defense with every precaution they can.

According to Zachary Jacobson from Cheesehead TV, Packers head coach Mike McCarthy has been making sure his team watches plenty of tape on Mack.

Now that former Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator Matt Nagy is calling the shots for the Bears, the Packers will have to prepare for drastic changes on both sides of the ball. However, protecting their quarterback must come first. Aaron Rodgers is the most valuable player on the Packers and spent a majority of last season inactive due to a broken collarbone.

The Packers struggled without Rodgers and finished the season just outside of the playoff picture. While his mobility and talent for extending plays are what makes him such an asset, McCarthy and his staff should prioritize keeping the QB safe from harm. Obviously, though, that will be easier said than done against a stud pass rusher like Mack.

After Week 1, the Packers will not see the Bears again until week 14 of the regular season. Maybe then, they will have enough tape to look out to create a plan capable of slowing Mack down. While the addition of Make does make the NFC North more competitive, the Packers are still the favorites to come about on to top of the Bears, Detroit Lions and Minnesota Vikings to claim the division title.
