New Green Bay Packers head coach Matt LaFleur will not retain special teams coach Ron Zook, according to Rob Demovsky of ESPN.

Zook spent five seasons with the Packers, starting out as a special teams assistant in 2014 before taking over as special teams coordinator in 2015.

Zook earned his first NFL job with the Pittsburgh Steelers back in 1996, serving as a special teams coach for three seasons before joining the Kansas City Chiefs as defensive backs coach in 1999.

Then, the 64-year-old was named the New Orleans Saints' defensive coordinator in 2000, a post he held for two seasons, which marked his last NFL job before joining the Packers in 2014.

Prior to joining Green Bay, Zook served as head coach of the University of Florida from 2002 through 2004 before making his way to the University of Illinois, where he held a job as head coach from 2005 through 2011.

LaFleur is taking over as Packers coach after spending 2018 as the Tennessee Titans' offensive coordinator.

Considered one of the top young offensive minds in football, LaFleur landed his first NFL job in 2010 when he served as quarterbacks coach for the Washington Redskins, a position he worked up through 2013.

He then took over as Atlanta Falcons quarterbacks coach in 2015, spending two years there and working with offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan to develop one of the most explosive offenses in the league.

LaFleur then became the Los Angeles Rams' offensive coordinator in 2017, and much like in Atlanta, LaFleur had great success, this time combining with head coach Sean McVay to guide one of the NFL's top offenses.
