On Thursday, Tyler Dunne of Bleacher Report published an article detailing all of the internal issues that took place inside the Green Bay Packers organization this past season, and, naturally, now former head coach Mike McCarthy was at the center of it all.

The article stated that McCarthy would actually miss team meetings during the season to have massages, and McCarthy categorically denies any such thing ever happening.

“I wouldn't even know where to start and stop with the article,” said McCarthy, according to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network. “But to say that I skipped a team meeting for a massage is utterly absurd.”

McCarthy then threw in a little quip for good measure.

“I have a massage scheduled tomorrow, and I can promise you I will not miss my primary responsibility of picking up my two kids from school.”

The long-time Packers coach was fired after Green Bay got off to a 4-7-1 start this past season, with his dismissal coming after a horrendous loss to the Arizona Cardinals.

McCarthy had been at the helm for the Packers since 2006, going 125-77-2 during his tenure with the club and leading Green Bay to eight straight playoff appearances between 2009 and 2016. His best moment with the franchise came during the 2010-11 campaign, when he led the Packers to a Super Bowl championship.

McCarthy's souring relationship with quarterback Aaron Rodgers was considered by many to be a big factor in his exit, as the two had been clashing over the last couple of years.

The Packers have now missed the playoffs two years in a row, marking the first time since 2006 that Green Bay failed to qualify for the postseason in back-to-back campaigns.
