Texans Week 9 Predictions
4. Brandin Cooks will have a 100-yard receiving game
Cooks enters the season with some impressive numbers. He is fourth in receptions throughout the league and 10th in yards. The Dolphins defense hasn't defended the pass well so expect the Texans to target Cooks a ton this Sunday. He will finish with over 100 yards and will catch a touchdown pass.
3. Houston gets their 2nd win of the season
Miami has been a mess this year. They were predicted to make the playoffs and they’ve done the opposite of fulfilling expectations. They have one of the league's worst offensives and defensives. Houston hasn’t been much better, in fact, they both have been the worst teams in football. Houston expected this, Miami didn’t. The Texans will come out and beat up on this Miami defense.
The Dolphins scored just three points last weekend in the first half. Their offense has been one of the league's worst. In that first half, they had three drives that ended inside the Bills' 35. Miami couldn't do anything offensively, something that's been an issue all year.
Article Continues BelowMiami has lost some bad games this year. They have three losses in a row that they could’ve come out on the winning side of things. In the other games, Miami got blown out and it was embarrassing for the Dolphins. When Houston has been losing it hasn’t been pretty, but they’ve looked better than Miami has. In week eight they lost to the Rams but they made it interesting after being down 38 points in the fourth quarter.
2. They score their most points of the season
Houston hasn’t scored more than 30 points since week one of the season. That will change this weekend when they face a struggling Dolphins defense. Miami did go back to their old defense according to Xavien Howard in week 8 against the Bills, it helped them but they still lost the game.
The Dolphins have some injuries on the team and have already been bad defensively, expect the Texans to score some points in this one.
1. Houston wins by a touchdown
Miami has been allowing teams to bully them late in the fourth quarter. They have lost two of their last three games on last-second field goals. The Texans will score a last-minute running touch down to take a 7 point lead against the Dolphins and win this one.
Someone is going to have to leave this game with two wins, although it is possible there could be a tie. Houston has nothing to lose while Miami is feeling all the media pressure. This will be a long game as both teams will struggle but the Texans will come away with the win.
