The Houston Texans have been one of the more active teams in the trade market this season, and they are maintaining this activity just hours before the 2020 NFL Draft.
Dianna Russini of ESPN reported the Texans have called teams about trading up into the first round.
I’d file this in the category as “right on brand”, I’m told the Texans have called some teams to trade up into the first round. Bill O’Brien never scared to make a trade. #Texans

Houston does not have a first-round pick, with their first selection coming in the second round at pick No. 40. This was the second-rounder they acquired from the Arizona Cardinals in the DeAndre Hopkins trade.
Article Continues BelowThere has been no real rhyme or reason to the Texans' offseason thus far. O'Brien traded an All-Pro receiver in Hopkins and failed even to acquire a first-round pick. Just a few weeks later, he parted ways with a second-round pick in order to acquire Brandin Cooks from the Los Angeles Rams. The Texans also lost defensive tackle D.J. Reader in free agency.
It will be interesting to see how high up the Texans are hoping to go as well as the package they feel comfortable offering. Houston has one pick in each of the second, third, fourth, and fifth rounds, so it is unlikely they can trade up very far without sacrificing a good deal of their draft capital.
Texans fans are probably hoping O'Brien just stands pat rather than making any rash decisions. The Hopkins trade was one of the most inexplicable moves of the offseason, and bringing on Cooks' massive salary is not far behind.
Still, O'Brien seems intent on wheeling and dealing. This should be an interesting situation to watch in the next few hours.
