Houston Texans superstar quarterback Deshaun Watson has been in the headlines for quite some time now. First Watson was demanding a trade, which generated a buzz on potential landing spots for him. Then, out of nowhere, sexual assault allegations came storming in.
Attorney Tony Buzbee initially took to social media claiming multiple women were coming forward to file suit against Watson, and there have now been 19 lawsuits filed. However, none of the cases have had any evidence submitted to the Houston Police Department, despite the fact Buzbee initially said on social media that he would be doing this.
All of the Deshaun Watson cases are being filed as civil suits, which means evidence does not need to be submitted. In fact, Buzbee now won't be providing evidence at all. He took to Instagram with a lengthy post to explain his reasoning:

Civil suits are for cases where the cases can be settled through payment. A couple of things can happen here. Deshaun Watson could agree to a settlement and pay Buzbee's clients. This would resolve the issue, however, Watson would have this hanging over his head for the remainder of his career.
The other option would be for Watson and his team to take this to criminal court, where Buzbee and his clients would have to provide evidence. Going this route would take much more time, but at least there would hopefully be some answers.
This is an ongoing issue that doesn't seem to be going away. The number of allegations against Deshaun Watson is growing by the day, but Buzbee is now refusing to submit any evidence to the police, which is another turn in this story. Stay tuned for more updates on the situation as it unfolds.
