Houston Texans defensive end J.J. Watt seems to be poised to have a big year, according to head coach Bill O’Brien in an interview with Peter King of the MMQB.

“I can tell you right now the guy’s going to be at the top of his game. He’s had a great training camp. I think he’ll be better than he was.”

Watt missed 13 games in 2016 with a back injury, but he is still a three-time Defensive Player of the Year and is arguably the best defensive end in the game.

He has flirted with Hall of Fame defensive end Michael Strahan’s single-season sack record of 22.5 two times during his young career. It is exciting to hear that one of the most polarizing players at their position is going to make an impact after missing time with a significant injury.

The Texans were already a playoff team without Watt. It is scary to think what kind of team they will be with a healthy Watt, especially if you take into account Jadeveon Clowney is finally living up to his potential.
