Houston Texans wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins has said he is going to play in Week 16 against the Philadelphia Eagles, per James Palmer of NFL Network.

Hopkins still had to undergo tests on his injured ankle, but the Texans’ star wideout has apparently passed those tests and will suit up.

Hopkins is having another outstanding season for Houston. He has 94 catches for 1,321 yards with 11 touchdowns, which is tied for fourth in the league.

He’s coming off his best game of the season last week against the New York Jets, where he had 10 catches for 170 yards and two touchdowns.

The Texans are currently 10-4 and would clinch the AFC South if they beat the Eagles. They also still have an outside shot at reaching the No. 1 overall seed if the Chiefs continue to stumble in the final two weeks of the season. However, the Eagles also have a lot to play for as they’re battling for the final wild-card spot in the NFC.

Hopkins’ presence should give the Texans a huge boost, especially with starting running back Lamar Miller and slot receiver Keke Coutee already both ruled out due to injury.

If Hopkins missed out, the Texans would’ve been left with just Demaryius Thomas, DeAndre Carter, and Alfred Blue as their primary playmakers. But with Hopkins around, he and quarterback Deshaun Watson can do some significant damage against an injury-ravaged Eagles secondary.
