Houston Texans star wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins has put himself firmly in the conversation as one of the top wide receivers in the league behind his continued elite level of production.

However, second-year quarterback Deshaun Watson has taken that a step further to clarify that he believes Hopkins is the best player in the league at his position, according to Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle.

Hopkins has certainly produced as well as he possibly could, earning that recognition by his play over his first six seasons in the league. He has recorded four campaigns with more than 1,000 receiving yards along with north of 70 receptions in each of the last five seasons. He has already racked up 73 receptions for 1,024 receiving yards and eight touchdowns through the first 11 games played this season.

Hopkins is currently ninth in receptions, seventh in receiving yards, fifth in touchdowns, and seventh with 93.1 receiving yards per game.

The 26-year-old has notched more than 100 receiving yards four times including more than 50 receiving yards in each game played so far this season while recording five or more receptions all but once and topping double-digit receptions twice.

Hopkins has shown he can do it all on the field with his big-play ability, being a legitimate red zone threat, and a bonafide possession receiver.

What has also been remarkable is that he has been able to continue to production regardless of who has been his quarterback throughout his career, ranging from Watson, Tom Savage, Brian Hoyer, Brock Osweiler, T.J. Yates, Case Keenum, Ryan Mallet, and Brandon Weeden. That hasn't prevented him putting up elite numbers along the way.

There is no question about his talent and ability on the field. If he stays on this path it will be hard to keep him out of the conversation as the best wideout in the game.
