After trading quarterback Deshaun Watson to the Cleveland Browns, the next task for the Houston Texans is to address their QB situation. However, according to reports, there isn't a lot of decision to make in that regard.

According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, the Texans are expected to focus on building around QB Davis Mills using the picks that they have. They'll still explore their options, but perhaps given the lack of QB options in the market, it makes more sense for Houston to build a strong roster that could help their QB in Mills.

The Texans refused to get any player in the Deshaun Watson deal, even though they had the opportunity to get Baker Mayfield from the Browns as well. Instead, they chose three first-round picks, a third-rounder and a late-round pick swap as compensation for their wantaway signal-caller.

Keeping Davis Mills isn't a surprising outcome, though, as he started for the majority of games for the Texans in 2021 in the absence of Watson while he was handling his sexual abuse allegations. While Houston won just four games in the past season, Mills did show flashes of brilliance as he finished the campaign with 2664 yards and 16 touchdowns on 66.8 percent pass completion.

Not to mention that he was just a rookie thrown into the spotlight amid the Watson drama. With a year of experience under his belt, he is undoubtedly poised to break out and play way better than his first year in the league. If the Texans can also bring in more help for him, Mills could find himself in a way better situation with plenty of opportunities to grow.
