With the 2017 NFL season officially in the books, the Jacksonville Jaguars can now turn their attention toward their first playoff appearance in a decade. The Jaguars will be squaring off against the Buffalo Bills in the AFC Wild Card Round on Sunday.

Aside from the fact that it is win or go home from here on out, the game against the Bills carries some extra significance since Jaguars head coach Doug Marrone will also be facing his former team. However, Marrone does not want to get into any talk about it being a potential “revenge” game, according to ESPN's Michael DiRocco:

“What's past is past,” Marrone said Monday. “I'll tell you guys the truth. … This stuff happened so long ago, OK? There's obviously been a lot of stuff out there. That stuff is done. It's over. I can't put it any simpler than that. So I'm not going to take away my primary responsibility to look back on a situation that occurred, what, three years ago.

“If I do that, then I shouldn't be the coach of the Jacksonville Jaguars.”

Marrone spent two years in Buffalo before opting out of his contract due to ownership changes. During his brief stint, he led to the Bills to a 15-17 record, including a 9-7 record in 2014  the give the Jaguars their first winning season in a decade.

Needless to say, he has made some tremendous strides since with Jacksonville. As a result, it is clear that the departure has ultimately worked out for both sides thus far.
