In order to make the Super Bowl, excellent chemistry between a quarterback and the head coach is important. The Kansas City Chiefs showed the amount of trust Andy Reid and Patrick Mahomes had in each other during the game, and this was especially evident in the first half.

During the first half of the Chiefs' 35-24 victory over the Tennessee Titans, it was very noticeable that the Chiefs didn't run the football much. It was evident that Reid was putting all of the responsibility to win on Mahomes' shoulders. Bill Barnwell of ESPN confirmed what fans were seeing by reporting an interesting statistic.

The decision to live and die by the passing game is a complete antithesis of the way the Titans managed to snag a win against the New England Patriots and Baltimore Ravens. For the Chiefs to completely rely on the passing game when prior history shows it as catastrophic gives Reid and Mahomes a lot of brownie points from fans.

Moreover, the tactic to rely on the passing game worked. Mahomes played exceptionally well during the game, collecting a total of 294 passing yards and three touchdowns on 23 completions. He was simply unstoppable on the passing game as the Titans defense couldn't find an answer to contain the star quarterback.

Thanks to this performance, they will now be participating in the first Super Bowl of the decade. Whoever they will be facing between the San Francisco 49ers and Green Bay Packers would have to prepare for a long night, if this performance is taken into consideration.
