The Kansas City Chiefs found a way to lose to the Cincinnati Bengals. After going up big in the first half, Kansas City completely collapsed in the closing minutes of the contest. Andy Reid reacts to the brutal loss his team suffered in the AFC Championship game.
According to Aaron Ladd, Reid didn't mince words with this reaction. Rather than formulating any excuses, the Chiefs head coach took the full blame. With the offense disappearing in the second half, Kansas City was unable to maintain their big lead against the Bengals. Now, Cincinnati heads to the Super Bowl, while Patrick Mahomes and company take an early vacation.
Reid on second half struggles: “I can put the players in a better position to make plays.”

What else can Andy Ried say? This was the first time we've seen the Chiefs struggle so hard after dominating the first portion of a game. Kansas City got hit in the gut in this one and they have no one to blame but themselves.
After starting the season a bit sloppy, many didn't see Kansas City bouncing back and making a deep playoff run. Instead, Andy Reid lit a fire under his team, giving them the spark they needed to get back into Super Bowl contention. Unfortunately for the Chiefs, it wasn't enough, as the Bengals have somehow managed to do the impossible.
It was an impressive run for the Chiefs. However, they officially enter the offseason and the front office must find a way to improve the roster. Kansas City didn't quite look the same all year and a few minor fixes could go a long way. This team will return, but for now, it's the Bengals turn for potential glory.
