Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver De'Anthony Thomas was arrested on Saturday on suspicion of possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to Brooke Pryor of The Kansas City Star.
The incident occurred in Allen County, Ka.
A Chiefs spokesperson said that the team is aware of the incident but has no further comment.
Thomas ended up missing most of the year after fracturing his leg in practice back in October. It was the same leg he fractured in Week 17 of last season.
The 26-year-old is set to enter free agency this offseason.
On the year, Thomas caught just three passes for 29 yards and a touchdown in five games.
Article Continues BelowThe Los Angeles native, who played his collegiate football at the University of Oregon, was originally selected by the Chiefs in the fourth round (124th pick overall) of the 2014 NFL Draft.
He played in 12 games during his rookie campaign, hauling in 23 receptions for 156 yards.
The following year, Thomas took the field for 13 contests, snaring 17 balls for 140 yards and a score.
During five seasons with Kansas City overall, Thomas registered 64 catches for 503 yards while reaching the end zone four times. He had re-signed with the Chiefs on a one-year deal last offseason.
Kansas City is coming off of an impressive season in which it won 12 games and captured the AFC West division title, locking up the No. 1 seed in the conference. The Chiefs then went on to defeat the Indianapolis Colts in the Divisional Round of the playoffs before falling to the New England Patriots in the AFC Championship Game last weekend.
