ESPN recently showed their predictions for who they believe is going to win awards for the 2019 season. A lot of their predictions are rather expected with whom they've chosen for these awards. Especially for the MVP award.

ESPN believes that Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes will repeat as the most valuable player in 2019. The Texas Tech product won the award after completing 383 of his 580 passes for 5,097 passing yards and 50 touchdowns to 12 interceptions. It was only in his first full season as a starter as well.

It will be interesting to see how Mahomes will replicate that same type of performance in the 2019 season. But with the talent around him and the signs that show he isn't regressing anytime soon, a repeat of the MVP is likely for Patrick Mahomes.

Other notable names that are in the top ten for ESPN's prediction are Carson Wentz being the runner-up and Deshaun Watson, Mitchell Trubisky, and Ben Roethlisberger rounding out the last three spots on the list. Another surprising prediction is that the list is only containing nothing but quarterbacks. No running backs. No defensive players. Just the quarterbacks.

But of all of the surprising predictions that ESPN could try to make, choosing Patrick Mahomes to repeat is not one of them.
